      The library is hosting is annual Summer Reading Festival during the months of June, July, and August.  Below is the posted schedule of events:

         
June 19-23: Animal Planet Week
*June 20: Creature Teacher will be here at 2p.m. They will bring some exciting animals to visit with us.
June 26-30: Surf Safari Week
*June 28: Franklin Drive-Thru Safari-10 a.m.
Wacky Wednesdays: all Wednesdays in July and August
From 10-11 a.m.
July 5: Craft Day-We will be making all sorts of crafts on this day. (10 a.m.-11 a.m.)
July 12: Janet Hurley-She will be doing a presentation on bats. (10 a.m.-11-a.m.)
July 19: Magical Balloon Guy-He does all sorts of crazy balloon art along with comedy. (10 a.m.-11 a.m.)
July 26: Don Plitt (aka The Snake Guy): Don will bring some of his snake friends and talk about how to recognize the poisonous ones. He is always a crowd favorite. (10 a.m.-11 a.m.)
August 2: Austin Arachnological Society-These guys will talk about spiders and how to recognize the dangerous ones. (10 a.m.-11 a.m.)
August 9: REVELLIE (TAMU MASCOT)-The first lady of Aggieland will be here with her handler. The handler will talk about the history of Revellie, how Revellie is chosen, how they are chosen as a handler, some of the traditions surrounding Revellie, and the handler’s responsibilities. Parents bring your camera or cell phone to take pictures of your child with Revellie! (10 a.m.-11 a.m.)
August 16: Christy Atkinson-Christy is a daughter of Mrs. Johnnie Roberts from Franklin and a former Ringling Brothers Clown and does shows on her own now. Guarentee she is going to be so much fun. Her awesome personality will make this show a must see. (10 a.m.-11 a.m.)
Reading Incentives:
1. Read 5 books-Free Ice Cream at DQ (all year)
2. Read 10 books-Free Personal Pan Pizza at Pizza Hut
3. Read 10 books-Qualify for a free HE Buddy t-shirt
4. Read 8 books-Qualify for a free Barnes and Noble books (going into 1st-completing 6th grade)
*Can start May 16*
5. Come to the Summer Reading Festival 4 out of 5 days and read 2 books a week during the month of June and receive a charm for the week. Come to program for the week and read 2 books in July and August and get a charm for the week.
